Our origin story

Bad Guys BN is a privately owned company based on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii. We specialize in the production and leasing of high-quality opposing force (OPFOR) vehicles and equipment, designed to enhance the realism of military training exercises.

Our team comprises three U.S. Army veterans with extensive experience in military training exercises, both from ground and air perspectives. With this expertise, we are dedicated to providing world-class OPFOR vehicles and equipment to improve the effectiveness of training and ensure military personnel are prepared for real-world scenarios.

Chief Warrant Officer Four (Retired) Peter ‘Soup’ Mansoor is a decorated Army Aviation and Infantry expert with 30+ years of experience in combat aviation, mission planning, and tactical instruction. With an extensive career spanning roles such as Pilot-in-Command, Air Mission Commander, Master Gunner, and Army Airborne Ranger, he has shaped modern air-ground integration tactics and trained the next generation of military leaders.

As the former Lead Aviation and Special Operations Forces Planner for the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC), Soup has played a pivotal role in large-scale multinational exercises across Hawaii, Alaska, and the Pacific theater, ensuring warfighters are prepared for real-world adversarial threats. His strategic leadership and operational expertise have left a lasting impact on joint and multinational military members alike.

Now contributing to Bad Guys Battalion (BGB), Soup brings unmatched credibility, operational knowledge, and firsthand combat experience to ensure realistic, high-fidelity training scenarios. His expertise directly enhances BGB’s mission to prepare warfighters with the most accurate and effective adversarial training solutions.

Michael R. Ruiz is a dedicated Blackhawk pilot and U.S. Army veteran with 24 years of service that have shaped him into a skilled and disciplined leader. Known for his sharp decision-making and resilience, Michael has navigated some of the most demanding and high-stakes environments in both combat and training. His service with SOCOM and later as a Blackhawk pilot involved extensive experience in tactical operations, search-and-rescue missions, and logistical support in hostile territories, highlighting his ability to perform under pressure.

Michael’s military career instilled in him a deep sense of duty, loyalty, and teamwork, which he carries into all aspects of his life. His exceptional leadership skills were honed in challenging situations, ensuring mission success while maintaining the safety and well-being of his crew.

Outside of his career, Michael is passionate about supporting fellow veterans and engaging in community service. His commitment to excellence, both in the military and beyond, reflects his unwavering dedication to serving his country and helping others.
